Released on March 11, 2025, the Nothing Phone (3a) and 3a Pro represent Nothing's most aggressive push into the mid-range market. These devices successfully bridge the gap between "budget" and "flagship" by introducing high-end features—like periscope zoom and 3,000-nit displays—at sub-$500 prices.

 

The series is defined by the new Essential Key, a dedicated physical button that works with Essential Space, an AI-powered hub for organizing your daily life and "sparks of inspiration."

• Advanced Zoom Capabilities: The Phone (3a) is one of the few phones under $400 to offer a dedicated 50MP telephoto lens. The 3a Pro goes a step further with a periscope lens, enabling 6x lossless in-sensor zoom and up to 60x "AI Ultra Zoom."

• The Essential Space: Accessible via the new physical Essential Key, this AI-driven space acts as a dumping ground for voice memos, screenshots, and ideas. The system automatically transcribes and categorizes your entries, keeping them separate from your main gallery.

• Refined Glyph Interface: The signature light strips now feature 26 individually addressable zones. New for 2026, the Glyph can now show a "Progress" bar for Google Calendar events and acts as a visual countdown for the camera timer.

• Flagship-Grade Screen: Both models feature a massive 6.77-inch display that hits a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, making them some of the brightest phones in their class, rivaling the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17.

• Longevity: Nothing guarantees 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches. As of March 2026, both devices are eligible for the Nothing OS 4.1 update based on Android 16.
