Announced on March 2, 2026, the iPhone 17e is Apple’s current entry-level offering. It replaces the iPhone 16e and serves as the budget-friendly gateway to the iPhone 17 family. While it retains the 6.1-inch notched design of its predecessor, it brings major internal upgrades, most notably doubling the starting storage to 256GB for the same $599 price.

Key Features & Changes

• The A19 Leap: Despite its price, it uses the same core A19 architecture as the standard iPhone 17. This ensures it fully supports Apple Intelligence (AI writing tools, image clean-up, and the new Siri) for years to come.

• MagSafe Arrival: For the first time, Apple’s budget model includes the MagSafe magnet array. This allows for 15W wireless charging and compatibility with the full ecosystem of magnetic wallets, stands, and chargers.

• Ceramic Shield 2: The front glass is upgraded to Apple's latest protection, which is 3x more scratch-resistant than previous generations and features an anti-reflective coating for better outdoor visibility.

• The Action Button: The traditional mute switch has been replaced with the programmable Action Button, allowing you to instantly trigger the camera, flashlight, or custom shortcuts.

• C1X Connectivity: It utilizes Apple's second-generation in-house modem. This chip is 2x faster than the one in the 16e and significantly improves battery life by using less power during 5G data transfers.
